Hesperocyparis macrocarpa aka Goldcrest Cypress or Lemon Cypress
These are often called lemon cypress because they give off a lemony scent if you rub the foliage. Goldcrest cypress are typically sold around Christmas time but they actually make an excellent year round houseplant reaching about 3 feet tall. Their main requirements are for well drained soil and lower temperatures around 15 -18 degrees Celsius.
Light: Cypress require a bright location with 6 to 8 hours of direct sun if possible.
Water: Water thoroughly once per week but allowing the soil to dry out in between. If plants become too dry the needles will turn brown.
