Hydrangea require frequent watering when indoors and blooming. If plants are allowed to dry out too much the flowers will collapse and may not bounce back.

Lighting: Provide bright indirect light such as from a south-facing window, which will offer sunlight throughout the day, or from an east-facing window, which will receive morning sunlight. Plenty of light is needed to keep them blooming. But be careful not to put them in direct afternoon sun, or the leaves and blooms will burn.

Watering: The most important factor is to keep hydrangea in a pot with drainage holes. These plants are more thirsty while they are blooming and the flower heads will begin to droop if they are too dry. Water when the top inch of soil is dry in the 6" pot. If possible, use distilled water or rainwater, because most tap water contains chlorine and other elements that can affect the blooms.

Temperature: The bloom cycle will last longer if plants are kept at cooler temperatures ie. 60-65F. If the leaf edges turn brown and crispy, the room may be too warm. Keep the plant away from drafts and heat sources.

After Blooming: Cut flower heads back to the first set of healthy leaves. They will now require less water then when they were blooming but should never dry out completely. Once all threat of frost as passed in late spring start acclimatizing your plant to outdoor conditions of temperature and wind and then once acclimatized plant in the ground in a sheltered location. They may overwinter but are not guaranteed as perennials.
