Irish moss can be grown indoors as a houseplant if given the right conditions. Produces cute tiny white flowers.
Lighting: Irish moss prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate foliage. A location near a window that receives filtered light is ideal.
Watering: Use a well-draining potting mix that retains some moisture. Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Use the bottom-up method of watering by submerging the base of the container in water and letting the roots soak in the necessary moisture. Avoid letting water sit in the cubbyholes of the foliage, as this can lead to rot.
Tips: Irish moss thrives in cool temperatures, ideally between 60-70°F (15-21°C). Keep the plant away from heat sources like vents, fireplaces, or direct sunlight. Increase humidity by placing the pot on a tray of pebbles filled with water or by misting the plant regularly.
